How to Change the Size of the Taskbar

The taskbar by default is set to accommodate taskbar icons set side by side. However, should you prefer, you can widen the taskbar and so accumulate a great many icons. You will also notice that the transparency of Windows Aero is much more evident when the taskbar is so widened. Changing the width to see if you like the effect is easy:

1 right-click on the taskbar
2 make sure there is no checkmark next to 'Lock the Taskbar'
3 hover your mouse pointer over the top of the taskbar until the double-arrow appears
4 hold down the left mouse key and drag the top of the taskbar to widen
