Adding the Run Command to the Start Menu

With the advent of advanced search capability in Windows Vista, Microsoft decided the Run Command merited a less prominent placement, thus the Run Command is no longer in the Start Menu. Many users won't miss it since one can simply type some of the old standbys such as dxdiag, msconfig, or cmd into the search field to reach these properties. However, if you like, you can instruct Vista to add the Run Command to the Start Menu as follows:

1 right-click on the taskbar
2 select the Start Menu tab
3 click on 'Customize'
4 scroll down and place a check mark next to 'Run Command'
5 click OK, Apply, OK
