Drivers

Driver - short for Device Driver, software that interacts with the operating system and a hardware device such as a printer or video card

Driver Rollback
- if you've recently updated a driver and now your system is acting up, you can rollback the driver with good success. Right-click on 'My Computer' -> click on 'Properties' -> 'Hardware' tab->'Device Manager' -> in the Device Manager window, navigate to the device and double-click to open a Properties Dialog Box ->click the 'Driver' tab - click 'Rollback Driver'

Tip: hardware manufacturers update drivers to reflect the latest technology and to repair bugs. You can check online with the manufacturer for any device you're having trouble with, often you'll find documentation noting the exact problem you're experiencing - simply update the driver and your problem is solved.

Tip: 'If it isn't broken, don't fix it' is one school of thought when it comes to drivers, especially video cards - you wouldn't be the first to start having problems only after an update.

Tip: If you want to experiment with video drivers try Omega Drivers

Drivers Headquarters - test your system for the latest drivers, free online scan plus membership services
